Nicole feels The current mood of nacwolin at www.imood.com

Second entry for today (that hasn't happened in a while)...

But I just had to do the proud-mama thing and share with you two really neat-o things that happened to N@than today.

First, he brought me the results of a music assessment (the Selmer Music Guidance Survey) he took in class. He scored:

Superior. The study of a musical instrument is definitely recommended. Your child has a very high probability of success in the study of instrumental music.

A bit later, I checked the mail and found:

Dear Student: I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to attend the Middle Years Program Academy... Congratulations!

This is an International Baccalaureate program that he applied for a few months ago. Students are selected based on grades, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, parent recommendations, a personal essay and extracurricular involvement.

The program's curriculum is described as "...organized around three major concepts: Intercultural Awareness, Holistic Education, and Communication. Students take core courses of English, social studies, mathematics, science, and physical education, but also take a modern foreign language, visual and performing arts and technology." One hundred 5th graders are selected each year to begin the program in 6th grade.

And our boy is one of them!

He is thrilled. And I am so very proud of him.

Thanks for humoring me and letting me brag a little.
