|Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 || As cliched as it sounds...|
S@n Diego was wonderful. I won't bore you with a blow-by-blow, chronological entry of all that we did. And honestly, we didn't do a whole lot. I am not into the gotta-cram-tons-of-stuff into a trip mentality anymore.
We enjoyed breakfast in a lovely deli. We walked by the Pacific. We drove around in a red-hot convertible and got sunburned shoulders and noses. We ate an amazing homemade meal with a lovely bottle of red (well, all but Rob who just can't acquire a taste for the stuff).
We drove up a winding road and took pictures where Morning Glories still bloom in October. We bundled up into sweatshirts and jackets on a surprisingly chilly afternoon and looked at huge ships and drank bad coffee.
We discussed religion and worldviews and education and cultural taboos. We recited lines from S0uth Park and giggled a lot.
We spent way too much on a steak dinner at a well-known restaurant and decided our steak house is just as yummy at a third of the price. We snuggled and watched a movie late into the night because we were, I suppose, a bit jet-lagged.
And we realized that as cliched as it sounds, we are more in love now than we were 17 short years ago when we said "I do" in another California town.
